All data is obtained from freely available sources of information such as published literature, media information given out by Ministries of Defense and press information by individual companies. As such it does not infringe on the copyright of any individual or legal entity. Should any such infringement be brought to our notice, the same will be examined and if found genuine, be expunged from our database. 2. The value addition brought to the GFAD by its designers lies in the unique way the data is organized so that it can serve as a research and reference tool. The term “Global Armed Forces Database” and the abbreviation “GAFD” is protected by copyright laws in India. Users are expressly prohibited from copying and reproducing GAFD data in any other media –print magazine, yearbook, CD-ROM, as executable program and /or any other means of mass or selective information consumption. 3. After obtaining prior permission from the owners of GAFD, The GAFD data, in tabular form or as part of a running article, may be quoted with the words, “According to the the Global Armed Forces Database” prominently highlighted. The data and numbers contained in the GAFD being open source information, are not claimed to represent the true and accurate inventory of equipment or any other data. The authors of GAFD make no such claim and users are expressly advised not to take any commercial decisions based on the data obtained from GAFD. 5. The data contained in the GAFD is for reference only and may not be relied upon for any purpose whatsoever other than as a reference material. 6. The owners and authors of GAFD are in no way responsible for losses of any means suffered by GAFD users for commercial and non-commercial purposes. 7. The owners and authors of GAFD categorically declare that the data in GAFD is not obtained from any classified and/or confidential material. While the owners and authors of GFAD base their information on open sources, it is not always possible to reference back to the original source of information considering the sheer volume of open sources our editors go through on a regular basis. However, should the need arise, we are open to providing original references. Should this not be possible for any reason, the particular data item will be deleted. 8. Information concerning the military may be legal in some countries and illegal in some others. Users are advised to exercise caution in countries where such information access may violate local laws.
