Honeywell was awarded a $37.7 million contract for tank engine parts for the AGT-1500 tank engine.
Work is expected to be completed by Oct. 31, 2020, the United States department of defense said in a statement Monday.
The AGT1500 gas turbine engine features include compact design, cold-starting capabilities, instant power, multi-fuel capabilities and stealthy operation.
Engine output peaks at 1,500 hp (1,120 kW), with 2,750 lb-ft (3,754 N-m) of torque at that peak, which occurs at 3000 RPM. The engine can use a variety of fuels, including jet fuel, gasoline, diesel and Marine Diesel.
