High-precision weapons fired from Russian warplanes and ships hit Ukrainian military facilities in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions on Tuesday.
“On March 22, air and sea-based high-precision long-range weapons were launched against Ukrainian military facilities,” Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said at a regular press briefing.
“Large depots of fuel and lubricants of Ukrainian troops were destroyed in the settlements of Lisichansk (Luhansk region) and Kramatorsk (Donetsk region), a missile and artillery weapons depot in Druzhkovka and ammunition depots in Nadezhdinka and Novoaleksandrivka (all three settlements in the Donetsk region of Ukraine),” Konashenkov added.
Konashenkov also claimed that Russian planes and helicopters destroyed 83 Ukrainian military installations. “Among them are four command posts, four anti-aircraft missile systems, three depots of rocket and artillery weapons and ammunition, as well as 68 places where military equipment is accumulated,” he said. “Russian air defense systems shot down 6 Ukrainian UAVs in the air, including one Bayraktar TB-2 near the village of Merefa, Kharkiv region.”
“In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 236 UAVs, 185 anti-aircraft missile systems, 1,547 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 154 multiple rocket launchers, 612 field artillery guns and mortars, as well as 1,343 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed,” the official stated further.
Konashenkov revealed the Russian army, pursuing the retreating units of the Ukrainian 54th mechanized brigade, advanced 4km in a day and approached the settlement of Novomikhailovka.
In the last 24 hours, Ukraine claims it destroyed 17 enemy air targets (6 aircraft, 5 UAVs, 1 helicopter and 5 wing missiles).
