The controversy stems from a US Department of Justice investigation into RTX, formerly Raytheon Technologies Corp., regarding pricing irregularities in contracts spanning from 2011 to 2013 and in 2017. Reports suggest that RTX inflated prices for weapons and equipment, including missiles and radar systems, while allegedly withholding this information from Taiwan. Responding to inquiries, Minister Koo assured that RTX would provide full reimbursement for any overcharges incurred by Taiwan.
