McLean, Virginia – Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII), a leading defense contractor, has announced its Mission Technologies division’s successful bid for a significant $79 million contract with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The seven-year contract will see HII support MDA’s mission to develop, test, and implement an integrated, layered missile defense system aimed at safeguarding the United States and its allies against potential enemy ballistic missile attacks. The contract covers a wide range of support services, including engineering, technical support, management, professional services, as well as analyses and evaluations.
HII’s Mission Technologies division, a key player in the company’s Cyber, Electronic Warfare, and Space business group, will lead the effort. This division’s primary responsibilities include providing assistance to MDA leadership on strategic, technical, programmatic, operational, policy, and organizational aspects related to the missile defense system. Work under this contract will be conducted at multiple locations, including Fort Belvoir, Virginia; Huntsville, Alabama; and Colorado Springs, Colorado.
In a strategic move, HII is also relocating its Fairborn office in Ohio. The new office, conveniently situated next to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, will enhance the company’s proximity to its customers and employees on the base. While HII is downsizing in terms of office space, this move reflects the importance of being in close proximity to its key stakeholders. The new office, located at 2310 National Road in Fairborn, offers more than 20,000 square feet of space and is set to host over 50 employees. This transition, effective from November 1, will improve collaboration between HII and its government partners.
Huntington Ingalls Industries, known as the largest military shipbuilding company in the nation, has been expanding its capabilities in the defense sector.
